You want top dollar when selling your home; in order to get it you need to make your home as attractive as possible to potential homebuyers. Now that you have spruced up the interior of your home, what can you do to the exterior to give it great curb appeal and value without breaking the budget?

Spruce up Your Yard as You Would a Messy Home

Neatness always presents better than a mess; before selling your home, take a minute to critique your yard and the exterior of your home. Are there trees, bushes, and plants that need trimming and tidying up? Do you have weeds that need to be pulled or planter boxes and flower beds that need dead plants removed and new ones planted? Check your walkways and driveways for cracks that need repair, and look at exterior fencing or gates as well. Nothing alarms potential home buyers more than a property that screams poor maintenance and repair.

Then, let your eyes move to the exterior of your home itself; are there areas that need paint touchups or other repairs? Look at your home and ask yourself what it needs to be the nicest home on the block and tackle the easy issues first--you just might find motivation to continue on with projects that involve more effort.

When selling your home, you want top dollar, and buyers want top value for the new home they are buying. Spending time and investing in your home's curb appeal can help you achieve your goals without breaking your budget.
